Commission on Narcotic Drugs
The Commission on Narcotic Drugs, 68th session, is taking place in Vienna at the United Nations this week, 10-14 March, 2025.
My NGO hosted a side-event in cooperation with the UNODC and the Government of Mexico
One of the side events at the CND was a luncheon with Drug Free America.
My Passion
If you know me, I cannot help but film and record whenever I feel like I am in a place, experiencing something significant. As I hesistantly pulled out my phone to take a couple of shots, I was asked, are you recording. That was enough, to encourage me to continue. So despite the wobbly beginnings as I catch the moderator, Ms Amy Ronshausen, introducing the programme, you see the people still coming to sit down at the remaining free places at the tables at the front of the room.
Fuhaira Sana
Then by the time she has introduced a young researcher from Pakistan, Fuhaira Sana, I have my tripod and telescope stand on the table in front of me, while the waiters beginning serving the three course meal.
Mulka Nisic
Mulka Nisic from RUN makes a passionate plea for support from the community and family, stating that stable recovery takes five years.
David Patton
Then Dr David Patton wins my heart as he expresses the need to love the woman until she can love herself.
I’ve recorded my impressions und share them here unedited. Surely they can be even more valuable edited as shorts and clips and dramatic stories.
I have this blog in my website called “Dream Job UN” and easily beat myself up for not doing enough. I’m busy after all still editing the material of our own side-event. So I take a lesson from what I’ve heard, learn to love myself, and just post this anyhow. If it helps you, please let me know. And don’t forget to tell somebody you respect and admire, how you feel about them. They will thank you for it.
